SOCIAL IMPACT. This prize recognizes ACCIONA’s hiring of 2,500 people at risk of social exclusion through the Integra Foundation.
ACCIONA was one of the companies recognized at the annual Integra Foundation awards ceremony, held today on the ACCIONA Campus.
The award, received by Juan Ignacio Entrecanales, executive vice-president of ACCIONA, commends the company for having reached 2,500 new hires as a result of its collaboration with the Foundation, which have given an opportunity for workplace integration to people at risk of social exclusion and people with disabilities.
In this way, ACCIONA becomes the second company to reach this milestone in Spain.
In its 23 years of existence, the Integra Foundation has managed nearly 22,000 employment contracts, of which approximately 10% belong to jobs offered by ACCIONA in Spain.
Last year, ACCIONA hired more than 250 people with disabilities and/or at risk of social exclusion through the Integra Foundation.
Approximately two thirds of these workers are women, more than 50% of whom are victims of violence. Around 20% are people with disabilities and, in terms of age, 50% of the hires are people over 45 years old.
ACCIONA collaborates with other entities recognized for their work in social and workplace integration, apart from the Integra Foundation, which contribute to the recruitment of diverse talent. This collaboration results in more than 400 average annual hires in Spain.
ACCIONA also collaborates with the Integra Foundation's School of Empowerment and its Integratech program, providing volunteers who give theoretical and practical training sessions for career advice and support to reinforce self-esteem and skills, as well as digital literacy workshops to close the digital gaps in access to employment.
ACCIONA and the Integra Foundation have been collaborating since 2001 to meet society’s need of workplace integration for people in severe social exclusion and people with disabilities.
Through its PEOPLE program, ACCIONA welcomes diversity in its workforce as one of its intersectional cornerstones, acknowledging the value and skills it offers.
